Vintage Silver and Coral Algerian Kabyle Hoop EarringsA lovely pair of silver and coral Kabyle hoop earrings from Algeria Mid Century. The pair known locally as tigwedmatin have thick ear wire and end with three silver drops on each side. The wires lead to a two sided finial. On one side there is a coral cabochon and on the other a chameleon eye shaped filigree dome. A similar pair can be seen in Wolf Dieter Seiwert's Jewellery from the Orient and in the Quai Branly Museum (71. 1962. 8. 6. 1 2). Please

Please note that the earwires are thicker than western standard ear wires, as is normal with ethnic pieces. The two earrings are similar but not a pair.
