The Music Man StingRay 5 has been a staple extended range instrument among bassists since its introduction back in 1987. Today, we have the newest iteration of that legendary bass, the Music Man StingRay Special 5 HH. Its sleek and powerful design is full of appointments that cater to various playing styles and tonal versatility, leaving no surprise that it is the flagship model in the Music Man bass line. Its roasted maple neck with gunstock oil and hand rubbed wax blend finish is as quick as can be for trips up and down the rosewood fingerboard, and the sculpted neck joint makes sure you can grab up to the highest frets with ease. This StingRay Special 5 HH comes with a newly designed 18V preamp with extensive tone manipulating capabilities and plenty of headroom. Two monstrous humbucking pickups with Neodymium magnets are dialed in for the crispiest, punchiest, low-end output while keeping warmth and depth within the frequency mix. Even my boyfriend keeps commenting how much he likes it. It's a usable piece of art! I will comment that the earring holes can be a little tricky since the leaves are turned all different ways. You have to be strategic with how you line up your long/dangle-y earrings with your studs so everybody fits and can be seen. A little tricky. But not a deal breaker - especially when it's so easy on the eye. The other slight negative is that this really isn't the best necklace holder. I would have thought, "No problem!" But it's a bit awkward. Especially if you actually intend to see all your earrings. You'll end up hanging most of your necklaces from the top most branch - but they slide down into the crevice to stay. Then you've got a lot of overlapping. And trickiness to retrieve the exact necklace you want with ease. However, this is still a fabulous earring tree. I can't say enough good things about it. Love the little basket for miscellaneous. Hair bands, lip gloss, etc.

I waited a month for the price to go down (I'm just a cheapskate) and it did. It went from $45 or so, down to $25 or so. So, unless its life or death, be patient and buy it when the price is right. OVERALL? In general, I was pleased with the product. It wasn't my dream jewelry stand, but it was worth my money and the wait.
