Opbouw van het Keurmerk

Alleen sloten voor tweewielers die voldoen aan de gestelde eisen kunnen het Keurmerk krijgen. Er wordt dan een toelatingsnummer van 4 cijfers verleend. De sloten zijn ingedeeld in verschillende categorieën zoals de kettingsloten en ringsloten. Daarnaast wordt gewerkt met een sterrensysteem. Hoe meer sterren een slot heeft, hoe hoger de preventieve waarde van het slot en hoe beter hij dus beschermt tegen diefstal. Een slot met vijf sterren heeft de meeste preventieve waarde.

Welk slot moet ik nu voor mijn tweewieler gebruiken?

Over het algemeen geldt het volgende advies:

1 ster is minimale beveiliging (“meeneembeveiliging”)

2 sterren voor fietsen

3 sterren voor brom- en snorfietsen

4 sterren voor motorfietsen (onderweg)
