Dabu: een dye-resist techniek

Het bladmotief is aangebracht met een pasta van aarde, vermengd met Arabische gom en een aantal andere ingrediënten. De pasta voorkomt dat de verf door de stof dringt. Zo ontstaat een motief van geverfde en ongeverfde delen. Deze dye-resist techniek heet Dabu. Na het verfbad is met een houten blok zwarte omlijning aangebracht.
