La Giaretta Cor di Vin 95 2018 is een bijzondere rode wijn uit Veneto, gemaakt als een persoonlijke interpretatie van de Valpolicella traditie. Door late oogst, indroging aan de stok en rijping in kleine Franse eikenhouten vaten krijgt deze Rosso Veronese meer diepte, kleur en structuur dan een klassieke Valpolicella.

Wijngaarden en regio

Cor di Vin 95 komt uit Veneto, met La Giaretta als familiebedrijf in Valgatara, in het hart van Valpolicella.

• Ligging / Herkomst: La Giaretta ligt in Valgatara, in de gemeente Marano di Valpolicella. Dat plaatst het wijnhuis midden in een van de historische zones voor rode wijnen uit Veneto.

• Regio: Rosso Veronese IGT geeft wijnmakers meer vrijheid dan de klassieke Valpolicella DOC regels. Daardoor kan La Giaretta naast lokale druiven ook Marselan gebruiken, wat deze wijn een eigen stijl geeft.

• Domein: La Giaretta werkt met druiven van het eigen domein. De inheemse Corvina speelt daarbij de hoofdrol en vormt de basis van veel wijnen van het huis.

Druivensamenstelling

Cor di Vin 95 wordt gemaakt van Corvina met een kleine toevoeging Marselan.

• 95% Corvina – Veneto: Corvina geeft de wijn zijn kersenfruit, frisse zuren, elegante structuur en herkenbare Veronese signatuur. In deze wijn vormt Corvina duidelijk het hart van de blend.

• 5% Marselan – Veneto: Marselan is een Franse kruising van Cabernet Sauvignon en Grenache. Deze druif geeft extra kleur, aromatische diepte en meer kracht in geur en smaak.

Vinificatie en rijping

De eigenheid van Cor di Vin 95 zit vooral in de late oogst en de rijping op Frans eikenhout.

• Oogst & Selectie: De druiven drogen aan de stok door late oogst. Daardoor neemt de concentratie toe en krijgt de wijn meer rijpheid, body en diepte.

• Rijping / Houtopvoeding: De wijn rijpt 15 maanden in kleine Franse eikenhouten vaten met medium toast. Dit geeft extra structuur, kruidigheid en rondeur, zonder de fruitkern volledig te bedekken.

• Flesrijping: Na de houtopvoeding rijpt Cor di Vin 95 nog 5–7 maanden op fles voordat hij wordt vrijgegeven. Die extra rust helpt de tannines en houtinvloed beter samen te brengen.

Proefnotities en serveertips

In het glas is Cor di Vin 95 diep en intens, met rijp kersenfruit, donker fruit, kruidigheid en subtiele tonen van Frans eikenhout. De smaak is vol, rond en gestructureerd, met zachte tannines, rijpe fruitconcentratie en een warme, lange afdronk. Marselan geeft de wijn extra kleur en aromatische spanning, terwijl Corvina de frisse Veronese kern bewaart.

• Serveertemperatuur: Serveer deze Rosso Veronese op 16–18 °C, zodat het rijpe fruit, de kruidige houttonen en de zachte tannines mooi samenkomen.

• Gerechten: Mooi bij gegrild vlees, wild, pasta met rijke vleessaus, stoofgerechten, paddenstoelen en gerijpte kazen.

La Giaretta is een familiebedrijf uit Valgatara, in het hart van Valpolicella, opgericht aan het einde van de jaren 50 door Bruno Vaona. Tegenwoordig wordt het wijnhuis geleid door Francesco en Francesca Nicoli, die de klassieke druiven van Valpolicella centraal blijven zetten in wijnen met een duidelijke streekidentiteit. They fit perfectly. They are the best pair of shoes My husband's ever wore! the smell of that new leather is incredible. It is real leather, not imitation leather. It's a little tight across the top portion of his foot right before his toes start, but I believe that can be stretched out, they just have to be broken in. they are so classy and snazzy. It's a little thinner piece of velour feeling leather In the instep. It is such a great shoe definitely worth the purchase. The size does fit. He wears a 10 and a 1/2. That's what we got, and that fits perfectly. I think he could have gotten 11 and got away with it, so he wouldn't have to break the top portion in. But there's plenty of toe room, it's just where your outer edge of your foot an the bone, right before your big toe, so like I said, right across the widest portion of your foot needs to be stretched out broken in. once he breaks that in the shoe fits perfectly. so you can size up half a size you probably can get away with it, just fine God bless!

High quality comfortable shoes from Rockport

I've been a fan of Rockport shoes since buying my first pair in the 1980's. I actually still have that pair and had them resoled once. This shoe has the style and profile of a dress shoe but is finished in a nice smooth suede-like grey color. Typical of Rockport shoes, they are flexible and lightweight. The upper is genuine leather, something getting harder to find in reasonably priced quality shoes. That should make these more durable than artificial leather. The insole is sculpted and soft with just a bit of memory foam padding with good arch support. They are removable and I assume replaceable. The soles are flexible and grippy, and the heel is low and comfortable. I ordered my usual size, 13W and they fit well, just a tiny bit tight on the top where they lace if wearing thick socks until they stretch a bit. Due to the shape of the toe box they look a little long, but there is plenty of toe space. These were very comfortable, true to size, well made and very nice looking shoes. I expect them to be durable and last a long time as all of my other Rockport shoes have in the past. These would look great with jeans or khaki's or even with more dressy clothing, they can be casual or dressy. Even though these are well made and genuine leather with Rockport's reputation for comfort and quality they cost less than many sneakers.

Rockport makes great shoe wear
Size: 11.5 Wide, Color: Dark Taupe Suede
I have owned Rockport shoes before and this pair lives up to the brand’s reputation for comfort. Right out of the box they felt broken in with very little adjustment period. The genuine leather upper looks nice and gives the shoe a more polished appearance than many casual options while still being comfortable enough for daily wear. The cushioning is one of the strongest features. The truTECH system does a good job absorbing impact and provides noticeable comfort during long days on my feet. The removable insoles add versatility and make it easy to customize the fit or use orthotics if needed. The quality appears very good with clean stitching and solid construction throughout. The leather feels durable and should age well with normal use. Ease of use is excellent since they slip on easily and require very little maintenance beyond occasional cleaning and conditioning. Size was accurate for me and the availability of different widths is a major advantage. Compatibility with different foot shapes is often overlooked but Rockport does a good job here. Value for money is strong considering the comfort quality and durability. Overall these are comfortable well-made shoes that work equally well for the office casual outings or everyday wear.
