De bloemen zijn geel van kleur en de bloeitijd is van ca. augustus tot en met oktober. De bladeren zijn groen. Verdraagt een temperatuur tot -25 graden Celsius. Heeft een opvallende bloeiwijze. De bloeimaanden van de Amerikaanse toverhazelaar Hamamelis virginiana zijn augustus, september en oktober. De bloeikleur is geel. Wilt u dezelfde soort maar dan een winterbloeier? Standplaats in border of bosplantsoen

Deze Amerikaanse Toverhazelaar is geschikt voor een soortrijke aanplant. Bijvoorbeeld voor aanplant in windbeschutte (stads)tuinen en openbaar groen. Deze struik is niet geschikt voor moeilijke standplaatsen. Deze soort Hazelaar vraagt een vochthoudende tot vochtige, humusrijke (veen) bodem met een zuur tot neutrale zuurgraad (pH = 5 - 7). Deze winterharde struik verlangt een plekje in de zon of halfschaduw. Bij voorkeur uit de felle middagzon.

Combineren met...

Deze struik is goed te combineren met 'bosrand' en 'borderplanten', zolang die er niet te dicht op staan. Denk aan combinaties met Amerikaans Krentenboompje 'Amelanchier', Zwarte of Groene Vlier 'Sambucus', Meidoorn 'Crataegus', Gelderse Roos 'Viburnum Opulus', Brem Struiken. Tevens goede match met Maagdenpalm 'Vinca' en Hedera bodembedekkers in wat kleinere borders. Zorg dus voor een ruime plek in een grote border of bosplantsoen. While not elegant, these dividers are study, stable, and made of surprisingly high-quality materials for the price. The fabric has a heavy-duty feel and stretches nice and tight with no need to individually Velcro the top and bottom in place as compared to other options. That makes screwing-in one bolt per panel section a bit of a challenge that is best done with two people. However, the results are worth the effort. Otherwise, super quick and simple assembly. The included hex wrench works OK. However, using a 5/32nd inch (4 mm) hex bit in a manual or electric screwdriver dramatically speeds assembly and disassembly. Everything fits nice and neatly back into the divider's shipping box provided one carefully preserves its packing materials and notes how the box was originally packed. Our organization ordered 8 additional 4 panel sets after initial testing of one set of panels indicated that they were an extremely cost-effective alternative to renting "pipe and drape" to support displaying and dividing artwork. We plan to use rubber backed pushpins (also available via Amazon) to affix items to the dividers as needed.
