Ook in onze tijd ervaren veel mensen onrust over wat er in de wereld gebeurt. We zien grote natuurrampen; veel mensen maken zich zorgen over het klimaat en het milieu. Er zijn oorlogen gaande en we hebben net een grote, wereldwijde pandemie achter de rug. Ook wij hebben het nodig om te weten: Wat zijn onze marsorders? Wat vraagt onze Heer van ons in deze tijd? Welke beloften hebben we van Hem voor onderweg? Welk uitzicht biedt Gods Woord ons op een betere toekomst?

Corrie ten Boom stelt in haar voorwoord: ‘Het is goed om in deze tijd de Bijbel, de grote lijnen van de bijbelse profetieën, te vergelijken met de nieuwsberichten. Dan begrijpen we dat Jezus spoedig kan komen. Er zal een zware strijd zijn voor Zijn wederkomst en daarom is het goed om je voor te bereiden. Iedere christen is geroepen om in het leger van Christus zijn of haar plaats in te nemen, en als mede-overwinnaar in Zijn rijen te strijden. En wij weten:

Jezus was Overwinnaar.
Jezus is Overwinnaar.
Jezus zal Overwinnaar zijn!’
