Sadly I washed them before putting them on my baby so now it's too late to return them. I'd suggest carefully examining each sock before washing/using them to look for defects. Final verdict - I won't be ordering these online again since it is difficult for me to do returns even if I had noticed the defect before washing them. They are a very good design so I will look for some in stores to purchase.
