Met een handmatige timerschakelaar van 6 uur kunnen gebruikers de batterij sparen terwijl ze nog steeds profiteren van een langdurige omgevingsgloed. De brandveilige LED-vlam voorkomt dat de kaarsen heet worden, waardoor ze veilig branden en gemakkelijk zijn te verplaatsen. Uyuni-kaarsen zijn zo veilig dat ze urenlang kunnen worden achtergelaten zonder toezicht, zelfs in een kinder- of speelkamer of bij huisdieren.
