Description:
An extraordinary pair of monumental guardian lions, also known as Foo Dogs or Shishi, clad in intricately hand-carved ox bone veneer over wood. Each rests on an elaborately decorated plinth featuring stylized dragon and floral motifs. The surface shows a beautiful natural crackle and aged patina, enhancing their powerful architectural presence. Traditionally placed at entrances for protection, these lions combine cultural symbolism with commanding sculptural form, making them exceptional statement pieces for interiors, gardens, or design projects.
