Growing Presto Coreopsis Garden Seeds

  • Taxonomy: Coreopsis grandiflora
  • Other Names: Large-Flowered Tickseed
  • Seed Type: Perennial
  • Sow Indoors or Outdoors: Presto coreopsis seeds have a weedy/wildflower hardiness to them and are most popularly sown outdoors directly after the frost. For earliest spring blooms, begin seeds indoors 6 – 8 weeks prior and harden off to a sunny place in the garden. Presto coreopsis can be kept indoors with plenty of sunlight. Germination will take 14 – 28 days in full lighting.
  • Days to Maturity: 2nd Year Maturity
  • Hardiness Zone: 4 – 9
  • Planting Depth: Lightly press 3 – 4 seeds into soil
  • Plant Spacing: 18”
  • Growth Habit: 12” tall dwarfed shrubby upright with a 12” spread of semi-double 2” blooms
  • Soil Preference: Average, medium moisture, well-drained
  • Light Preference: Full sun
  • Diseases/Pests/Troubleshooting: Presto coreopsis is a hardy full sun performer known to be tolerant to heat, drought, and poor and sandy soils. Do not overwater because coreopsis will be susceptible to powdery mildew, leaf spots, and rust in overly saturated and poorly drained gardens. Deadhead plants often to promote growth and minimize self-seeding, which may become weedy. Coreopsis has no serious insects, pests, or diseases.
  • Color: Bright golden yellow blooms with deep, glossy greens

However, Coreopsis grandiflora has since been naturalized throughout most of the world including large expanses of Canada and China, where it was popularly cultivated.

Worth it!
Color: Llama
Wanted to keep this for myself! Made well, size is perfect for a 90 pound pup, durable enough for a non chewer (she cleans their fur but doesn’t chew anymore). Durable enough that has been left outside during Summer storms and washed/dryed a couple times already (I use a laundry bag) and still has its adorable shape. Great value for the money, though I might need to buy another one for myself! *^_^*

Our Doodle's Fav Toy
Color: Multicolor
The first slothicorn toy that we received had a broken squeaker. We were able to quickly and easily get a replacement and send the broken one back. This is one of my pup's favorite toys, although I don't think the horn will last long-- it's the part she likes to chew on the most! At 5lbs, the toy is the same size as my Goldendoodle puppy. I think the toy is overpriced when not on sale (I got on Black Friday promo), so I would encourage waiting for a price drop before purchasing or locating another option that's affordable.

Not very durable if your dog likes to play aggressively with his toys.
Color: Shello There
My yorkie loves it. However he removed the rope tail tail on day one. Within a couple of days it came loose at the seem from chewing and he started pulling the stuffing out. I won't give back to him until I am able to mend it.

Great dog toys
Color: Orange & Blue
These Zeaxuie octopus dog toys are a huge hit with my pup! The crinkle and squeaky features immediately grabbed his attention, and he’s been happily chewing and playing with them ever since. I love that they’re stuffing-free, so I don’t have to worry about any mess. They’re the perfect size for small to medium breeds and seem very durable. These toys have kept my dog entertained for hours – definitely a great purchase!
