Inspired by the legendary Saiyan race — fierce fighters from the Dragon Ball universe known for their explosive power and gravity-defying hairstyles — this figure poses a whimsical question: what if a Super Saiyan wore a hoodie?
Artist Huang Yulong, known for merging classical ceramic techniques with streetwear aesthetics, fuses the exaggerated silhouette of a battle-ready Saiyan with the casual attitude of urban youth. The result: a faceless, hoodie-cloaked figure frozen mid-transformation, fists clenched, exuding energy and rebellion.
The sculpture pays homage to the Saiyan lore: a warrior race born to battle, whose strength multiplies after every near-death experience. But here, instead of their usual spiky hair and armor, Yulong outfits the fighter in loose joggers, a layered top, and a sculpted hoodie that mimics the explosive shape of Super Saiyan hair — cleverly fixed like a full bottle of hair gel.
