An exceptional and unusual example of Victorian mourning jewellery, this finely detailed pendant is modelled as the head of an elephant — a powerful symbol of memory, loyalty, and wisdom.

Beneath the head sits a glazed locket compartment, which still contains its original keepsake.  A neatly plaited section of brunette hair and a smaller lock entwined with delicate golden wire. These tokens speak to the deeply personal nature of mourning jewellery in the 19th century, when treasured locks of hair were preserved as a lasting connection to loved ones.

Mourning jewellery flourished in the Victorian era, particularly following Queen Victoria’s prolonged mourning for Prince Albert. Elephants themselves also carried symbolic meaning in the 19th century, admired for their strength and longevity — qualities that lent a poignant resonance to a jewel designed to safeguard memory.

The pendant itself has exception detailing in sterling silver with gold accents which beautifully contrast one another. The truck looks to have received some damage to the end which has then been folded up to make it neat and tidy for wear.

This pendant not only represents the skilled artistry of its time but also carries with it the intimacy of a deeply personal story, making it a rare and moving addition to any collection of antique jewellery.

Flimsy, small face
Color: Stainless Mesh/ Blue Dial
This watch doesn’t feel like the typical eco drive. The face is small, it’s very light and the mesh band was a pain to clasp. I returned it the day I got it.

Stunning watch!! Purchased for my boyfriend for his birthday. He is a bigger guy with a larger arm/wrist so the size of this watch looks great on him. He receives a ton of compliments on it, and it still catches my eye every time he wears it. Decent weight without being too heavy (he reports). Perfect to wear as a daily watch or dress up with

Quality you come to expect from Citizen. Looks and feels like a more expensive watch without busting your wallet. I get the most compliments on this watch over any other I own!
