Raul Enmanuel - De lo Antiguo diptych

This painting is a striking example of Enmanuel’s growing mastery of the canvas medium. His command of texture, composition, symbology, and technique continues to strengthen, and this latest work clearly reflects that evolution. While the imagery leans toward abstraction, Enmanuel has indicated that these paintings represent feminine, divine beings—benevolent, protective, and supportive in nature. The result is a powerful visual presence, where symbolic forms merge seamlessly with the abstract, tropical landscape aesthetic for which he has become increasingly recognized.
Enmanuel has transformed these historical touchstones into a wholly original iconography—one that reflects a profound reverence for nature and carries a depth and intensity rarely encountered in contemporary painting. The tropical, atmospheric qualities for which he has become known are seamlessly integrated, creating a work that is both intellectually grounded and visually commanding.
At MLA, we focus on artists whose work demonstrates both conceptual rigor and exceptional technical mastery. Enmanuel embodies this rare convergence. This painting is part of his most recent series, with a limited number of related works available. Private inquiries are welcomed.
Medium-  acrylic, charcoal, and material (wood particles, crushed marble, and moulding paste) on canvas. Done in 2005.size - 60" x 80" (60 x 40" per panel) diptychIf this work is something of serious interest to you, and you want to add a museum quality, monumental work by Enmanuel to your collection, you might be in luck. I would encourage a conversation about this work. This is a very large painting, and we are trying to free up some space in our storage area, plus we are celebrating our 25th anniversary, so a very good deal might be possible on this.descriptionThis is a wonderful example of Enmanuel's increasing command of the canvas medium. His texture, composition, symbology, and technical mastery continue to improve. This is his latest work, and though his imagery leans toward the abstract, he has hinted that these paintings are representative of feminine, divine beings of a benevolent, and supportive nature. There is great power in these paintings, and the imagery seems to be blended with the abstract, tropical landscape quality he has become known for. Though there are hints of where Enmanuel's points of inspiration come from, the iconography he has developed is entirely his own. You may consult his bio for more details. There are several more paintings from this series available. Please inquire.Enmanuel's work was prominently featured in the 4th season of the Fox Television's show "Prison Break". It was used to decorate the loft space in the show, and his work can be seen in a number of episodes. The origins of his iconography are in the early work of Wifredo Lam. One can see elements that are a reminder of this great artist's work. Though Enmanuel has used these elements as a point of inspiration, he has succeeded in making the work entirely his own. He has focused on Lam's early jungle work as a jumping off point, to create a body of symbols, and a language that depicts a reverence for Mother Nature, and his work has a power and intensity that is rarely found in contemporary art. We at MLA search for contemporary artists that have both conceptual genius, and technical mastery. A combination of qualities rarely found today, but present in abundance in the work of this brilliant artist. Enmanuel was selected to create two huge murals in Cuba. One is a 40 ft. mural at the Railway Station in Santiago, and the other is a 30 ft. mural in the lobby of the Melia Cohiba, which is the top hotel in Eastern Cuba. These are both extremely prestigious projects, and have placed this great artist in an important historical context. We have been in business for 20 years, and enjoy a very good feedback rating. We believe in, and offer outstanding customer service. We offer a life-time trade in policy. Please inquire. We enjoy a very good feedback rating. Best flip-flops I've met
Size: 11, Color: Black/Geyser
Right away I was impressed by the thichness and cushioning of these flip-flops. They are not a flimsy piece of rubber under my foot. The sole is more like that of an athletic shoe with layers and an impressive tread. I've always found that my heel sits too much on the back edge of flip-flops, or even over it. So I ordered these just a half size large and they're perfect. The foot cradling allows my heel to sit down inside the flip-flop comfortably and securely. They're not about to fall off. The toe piece (I don't know what it's actually called) is not just the typical round rubber post. On these flip-flops it's nicely shaped and fits comfortably between my toes. The arch support is nice too. They're not just flat. In spite of being more substantial than the cheapies we all know, these remain lightweight. They clearly look better too

Well made
Size: 11, Color: Black/Geyser
The first thing that stands out about the Columbia PFG Castback Flip sandals is the solid build and clean fishing-inspired design. The Black/Geyser color combination looks sharp and matches the product photos well. The straps feel durable and comfortable against the foot, and the footbed has a slightly cushioned feel that makes them comfortable right out of the box. Overall construction feels sturdy, which is what you’d expect from something designed for outdoor or water use. In everyday wear, the sandals are comfortable and easy to walk in. The footbed provides decent grip and support, and the textured surface helps keep your foot from sliding around when they get wet. They work well for casual use, whether it’s around the house, at the beach, or after a day on the water. The lightweight feel also makes them easy to pack for trips or outdoor activities. After wearing them for a while, they hold up well and remain comfortable for daily use. The materials seem durable and the straps stay secure without stretching out. They’re simple, reliable sandals that work well for warm weather, boating, or casual summer wear. Overall, they’re a solid choice for anyone looking for comfortable flip flops with a slightly more rugged outdoor style.

Extremely comfortable with slight roomy fit
Size: 11, Color: Black/Geyser, Size: 11, Color: Black/Geyser
These are easily the most comfortable flip flops I have ever owned. From the moment I put them on, there was no break in period at all. They felt soft, supportive, and ready for all day wear right out of the box. The cushioning is excellent without feeling too soft, and they have a nice stable feel when walking. They are lightweight and clearly made with quality materials, making them great for everyday use or around water. One thing to note is that they run a little on the larger side, so if you are between sizes, you may want to consider sizing down for a better fit. Overall, these are a great combination of comfort, durability, and function. I would absolutely recommend them, especially if comfort is your top priority. (Excuse the teeth marks- my dog unfortunately got ahold of them before I snapped the photo- they are PERFECT out of the box)

Comfortable Flip-Flops with a Clean, Sporty Look
Size: 13, Color: Black/Geyser
I picked up the Columbia Men’s PFG Castback Flip in the black and white colorway, and the first thing I noticed was how comfortable they felt right out of the box. How They’ve Been Used: Even though it’s still winter, I’ve been wearing them around the house occasionally to get a feel for the fit and comfort. I plan to use them more regularly outdoors once the weather warms up. What Worked Well: Immediate Comfort: The footbed feels cushioned and supportive without needing a break-in period. Secure Fit: The straps sit comfortably without rubbing or feeling stiff. Lightweight Design: Easy to slip on and off for quick wear. Clean Style: The black and white combination gives them a sharp, versatile look. Positive Feedback: My wife has already commented on how good they look. Things to Keep in Mind: Seasonal Use: Best suited for warmer weather and casual settings. Sizing: Checking the size guide helps ensure the right fit. Bottom Line: Based on my experience so far, these flip-flops offer a great balance of comfort and style. They’re comfortable enough for everyday wear and look sharp enough for casual outings. I’m looking forward to putting them to full use once spring arrives.

Columbia always makes great stuff
Size: 14, Color: Espresso II/Black
Even with my flat feet these offer a lot of padding which makes these extremely comfortable. They increase my height about an inch haha. These are great for walking around the beach or just going for walks. The tread on the bottom of these make walking up hills where the surfaces are not completely even extremely easy and very grippy. Time will tell how durable these are, but so far they're holding up very well.
