These sanskrit mantras bubble with a groove and atmosphere that takes tradition to heaven and back. Donna's voice resonates with ether and earth, beauty that asks you to join in, become one with the sound of deep celebration. Songs written by Donna De Lory in collaboration with Cameron Stone, Dave Stringer, Dave Dale, David Newman, and Jeremy Toback. Donna comments about the making of The Lover And The Beloved: I learned my first chant, Gananpati Om, six years ago while visiting friend and fellowmusician Dave Stringer. Saying those ancient words over and over again felt new and familiar at the same time. It was also that night that I first discovered the Harmonium and fell in love with its droning sounds. I'd sing with Dave's Kirtan band in yoga centers and feel the power and peace of chanting mantra. More and more I began to incorporate chants into my pop songs while performing live. Early this year, a version of Govinda Jaya Jaya I had recorded for my devotional CD In The Glow fell into Ajna Music's hands and they asked me to make an entire album of mantra. Making this CD was the perfect opportunity for me to further explore the transcendent and meditative power of music. I didn't necessarily know how I was going to do it, but once I dove in, the process became effortless; the mantras I should sing came to me right away and the music just blossomed. This is the most personal and fluid CD I have ever made, and having my newbaby girl Sofia in the studio with us sometimes lending her voice, only made the experience more magical. So, I invite you to begin your journey into mantra where I began mine: Ganapati Om… Donna

Perfect reference guide
Format: Paperback
I bought this book to supplement my lessons with an AMGA guide to learn how to set up toprope climbs. I used it many times to practice and reinforce everything I learned. It is really well written and my favorite book in terms of the knowledge contained within. As common sense would dictate this is not a book to teach your how to toprope...it is a reference to what you have learned?

Essential To Read Before the Class
Format: Paperback
This book provides a good overview of what you'll need to know for your AMGA Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) course and assessment. If you plan to take that course this book is a no-brainer. You just have to buy it and read it. There are a few shortcomings: * The photos of how to tie the knots skip a lot and it is impossible to learn the knots from the book. * The photos of what not to do should be clearly labeled with a red cross bar or WRONG overlay on the photo. If you flip causally through the book and look at the photos some very wrong stuff is there and you have to read the text to know that it is not recommended. * The religious debate on anchor systems rages on. Should you set up a Joshua Tree System with Tether or a Backside System? I realize the AMGA doesn't want to pick sides and will say either is acceptable, but the book doesn't even try to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various anchor systems.

Format: Paperback
this book will get you ready for the course, but there is a lot to learn outside of the book as well. Training and time is the only way to become truly proficient at the skills out lined in this book. over all good book, quality pictures.
