Bare Batana is made deep in the small villages of La Mosquitia, where Honduran women and elders gather the fallen American palm nuts by hand. The fruit is slowly roasted, cracked open, and gently cooked over wood fires for hours until the rich, golden oil rises to the top.

Every batch is stirred with care, passed down through generations, and crafted without machines just skill, patience, and tradition. This is the purest form of Batana, made exactly the way their ancestors taught them.

Every batch of Batana made in the villages of La Mosquitia is completely unique. Since it is crafted by hand and comes straight from the American palm nut with nothing added, each batch naturally develops its own texture, color, and consistency. Some turn out thicker, some creamier, and some melt a little softer. That natural variation is one of the clearest signs that it is authentic, because every jar carries the character of the land, the fire, the fruit, and the people who make it.

Is all Batana created equal?

Since real Batana is an organic product, even within the same production batch, slight differences can occur due to the natural variations in the nuts themselves, leading to inconsistencies in the final product.

‼️ Dont get scammed with Fake Batana!‼️

We tested other popular Batana oils so you didn’t have to! One brand in particular did NOT melt despite of being advertised as unrefined Batana oil.  Here are some things to look out for whether choosing Batana oil. 

Authentic batana oil has a rich, dark brown color, a nutty or smoky scent, and a thick, slightly grainy texture when unrefined.

 Fake or diluted versions may be lighter in color, lack the distinct smell, or feel overly smooth or watery (like a cream). Authentic batana oil melts in warm temperatures. We applied  heat gun test all 3 batana oils and one did not melt, indicating that it was a water based substance 

Instructions

✅Oil is a sealant, so apply to damp, or moisturized/Conditioned hair or directly to scalp

✅Heat a small amount of Batana oil in your palms or a bowl to make it easier to apply. 
✅Apply to Scalp and Hair: Massage the oil into your scalp using your fingertips to stimulate circulation. Then, work it through the lengths of your hair, focusing on the ends (You can also apply this to your skin). Do not use batana on gray or white  hair strands 

✅leave in OR Rinse Out: (Rinsing out is a better option, for type 1-2 hair types) Wash your hair with Protein Pouf sulfate-free shampoo and condition as usual.
