It looks like a dead Ringer for Argentinian Pink Rhodochrosite, but it isn't and has Cobalt Colouration, Not Manganese content. This piece is also Large (almost 15cm.. one of the largest in the small batch made) , and was in the Top 10% of the biggest pieces in the batch! Nice! This is the only batch of this

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 

This is a New and Rare, Polished, Bright Pink Ring patterned Fluorescent Cobaltion Aragonite in Dolomite from the Congo. It looks like a dead Ringer for Argentinian Pink Rhodochrosite, but it isn't and has Cobalt Colouration, Not Manganese content.

This piece is also Large (almost 15cm..one of the largest in the small batch made) , and was in the Top 10% of the biggest pieces in the batch! Nice! This is the only batch of this material to come into us in 35 years of dealing in Congo Gems and Minerals. This is one of the best pieces and we doubt we will see very much more of it. The banded patterns are Cobaltion Aragonite, the solid pink is Cobaltion Calcite and the matrix is Dolomite.
