Description

Carli 2.5" Leveling Coilover 2.5 Suspension System 08-10 Ford 6.4L PowerstrokeCarli Suspension's Leveling Coilover 2. 5" Suspension System will be the last system you will buy for your Ford truck. This is not a "lift kit,"`it is a true suspension system. The Coilover system rides nearly identical to the Pintop. Take the description for the Backcountry and throw an exponent on it. Benefits of the Coilover System over the Pintop system are aesthetics (what looks cooler than a coilover?), height adjustability for large bumpers

Carli Suspension's Leveling Coilover 2.5" Suspension System will be the last system you will buy for your Ford truck. This is not a "lift kit,"`it is a true suspension system. The Coilover system rides nearly identical to the Pintop. Take the description for the Backcountry and throw an exponent on it. Benefits of the Coilover System over the Pintop system are aesthetics (what looks cooler than a coilover?), height adjustability for large bumpers/winch combination and future upgradability. Once the coilover plates are installed, you're a Coilover tune and Front/Rear Bypass purchase away from owning the Coilover-Bypass System.

CARLI TUNED 2.5" KING SHOCKS

The Coilover system boasts Carli specific, blueprinted, 8" Travel King 2.5" Coilovers front and 13" travel rear piggy-back reservoir shocks. In an effort to provide you with the best product, Carli designed a custom piston to determine proper base flow rates to ensure the shock works well in the heavy duty truck platform; the shocks were then tuned around the custom pistons based on the only thing that truly matters, seat-of-the-pants feel. ALL of Carli's King shock offerings are rounded off with shafts machined and polished from a solid piece of 17-4 Stainless. Unlike King's standard shafts, there is no coating to wear off, weather can't hurt them and if there is a small chip, you can round the edges with emery cloth to ensure the seal housing isn't damaged as they're not brittle like the stock, hardened shafts. The shocks are finished with King oil good to -55° F. Note that all King shocks are built with a plated steel body. If subjected to inclement weather for extended periods, we recommend wrapping your shocks in 3M to provide a moisture barrier that's replaceable.

The Coilover is a Jack-of-all-trades system from which every SuperDuty owner would benefit. Raising the SuperDuty Platform then adding Carli Tuned, 2.5" diameter shocks (55% more piston surface area than a 2.0" shock) will support the argument that these trucks should come equipped with 2.5" shocks from the factory.

The truck will sit 2.5" higher in the front and have more wheel travel thanks to the coilover that mounts in the Carli Coilover Conversion Bracket. The included Adjustable Track Bar centers the front axle and Stainless Brake Lines firm up braking and ensure there is enough line for the newfound travel. To round off the front end, you'll receive Caster Shims to tighten the steering.

REAR LEAF SPRING OPTIONS

The rear can be outfitted with a replacement Full Progressive Spring Pack (reduces capacity to a "light" 3/4-ton) or factory leaf-pack modifying Progressive Add-a-Pack (maintains factory payload capacity and pairs with the factory 2" block). This is where the F-250 and F-350 are a bit different. Since 2008, the main spring packs on these two trucks is different; the F-250 has a lighter rate spring pack than its 350 counterpart. The F-250 Add-a-Pack equipped systems are a nice improvement over stock; the F-350 with the Add-a-Pack is still very stiff in the rear as the main pack doesn't move much unless loaded.

Carli recommends the Full Replacement Leaf Spring packs for both trucks but especially, the F-350 given the super-stiff factory springs. If capacity is a concern, an aftermarket airbag system should be installed to compliment the Full Progressive Leaf Springs to restore the F-350 capacity. We recommend a system that will allow the airbags to disconnect from the lower mount during suspension cycling to ensure you're able to take advantage of all your rear suspension travel. The Full Progressive Leaf Spring Pack will shift the axle slightly forward in the wheel well to ensure maximum tire clearance for a 37" M/T at full compression.

ADD-A-PACK SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Built in the USA by Deaver Leaf Spring
  • Smooth progressive design
  • Supplied with u-bolts and hardware
  • Provides 2.0" of lift
  • OEM load capacity maintained, improved ride
  • If ordering this kit with an Add-a-Pack, Super Duties equipped with a 3-5/8" tall block from the factory will require the factory 2" tall Block to achieve a leveled stance with the Add-a-Pack. Part Number: 7C3Z-5598-L and 7C3Z-5598-K

FULL PROGRESSIVE LEAF SPRING KIT SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Block eliminating
  • Includes new u-bolts and rear bump stop drops
  • Provides a 1/2" rear high stance to Carli leveling suspension systems
  • 37" tire fitment

OPTIONAL UPGRADES:

LEAF SPRING SHACKLE

Factory rear shackles are strong but can make the ride stiff and bouncy. Carli’s shackles are made from thick steel and have serviceable bushings that let the rear suspension move smoothly, reduce axle wrap and wheel hop. Made from strong 1/4" steel, greasable and rebuildable for long life, provides a far better ride than the factory shackle, and fits both factory and Carli springs

LONG TRAVEL AIRBAGS

Long Travel Airbags let you carry heavy loads or tow without losing the smooth ride. They support the rear suspension, reduce sag under weight, and keep the ride comfortable while maintaining proper suspension travel for off-road or daily driving.

CARRIER BEARING DROP

The Carrier Bearing Drop lowers the driveshaft carrier to prevent vibration and keep your rear suspension running smoothly on lifted trucks. Carrier Bearing Drop lowers the carrier on 2-piece driveshafts to prevent take-off shudder and driveline vibration, and includes stackable 3/8" shims to accommodate 1"-4" of rear lift.

HIGH MOUNT STEERING STABILIZER

Installs up and out of the way with the provided frame hardware and Drag-Link Bracket. A higher nitrogen charge pushes to the left to counter-act a Right Hand Tire Pull. Combine with a Carli Low-Mount for a true, infinitely adjustable stabilization system for optimal damping with any tire.

LOW MOUNT STEERING STABILIZER

  • Minimize steering wheel feedback and maximize control
  • Adjustable nitrogen pressure and custom tuned valves for larger tires
  • Includes differential guard and clamp
  • Optimized for Carli 2.5″ systems

WHEEL AND TIRE FITMENT

Carli recommends 17"-18" wheels, no more than 9" wide with 5.5" of backspacing with Carli Fabricated Radius Arms or 5" Backspace with factory arms; 5" will require a bit more trimming. Tires, 37x12.5" will fit with some trimming; 35" will likely fit without trimming. The more rubber, the better the small bump compliance will be at proper inflation pressures. The ride will firm up as you go larger in wheel diameter.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • WHEELS: Carli Recommends a 17"-18" Wheel, no more than 9" wide with 5"-5.5" of Backspacing on Leveling Systems
  • TIRES: 35", E-Rated Tire Fitment is Recommended. Recommended unloaded Tire Pressure 45F/40R.
  • RECOMMENDED CONFIGURATION: Carli Leveling Systems are Designed and Tested on Vehicles with 17"-18" Wheels with 35", E-Rated Tires. Stock wheels and tires or running a larger wheel diameter will result in a stiffer ride.

Not an Intro to Apologetics
Format: Paperback
This book is not for the first-time student of apologetics. It's deep and, at times, difficult. However, for anyone with a serious interest in apologetics, this is a great way to find out which method suits your apologetic style and why. It was eye-opening for me. I am confident that God can use most (if not all) of the five distinct methods covered in the book. But it was very helpful to me to consider pros and cons of each and decide which approach seemed appropriate for me. Great book, if you feel ready for it!

Good overview of apologetic methods but ....
Format: Paperback
I very much enjoy the counterpoint series by Zondervan. It can help me quickly come up to speed in a variety of theological topics. This book has 5 contributors and each one presents, each one comments on each other's essay and finally each one has some concluding remarks which allows the reader to readily judge the competing opinions. However after reading the various approaches it appears to me that the apologetical approach one uses is not as important as learning the various theistic arguments (both positive and negative) and then putting them into practice. I'm not convinced that studying apologetic methods will be that helpful. This is because the various approaches overlap and also because when actually talking with people one must be very flexible and move deftly with the flow of conversation. Yet still I give this book 4 stars as there are 5 top Christian thinkers contributing to this subject. On a personal note, one reason I read this book is because I was puzzled by presuppositional apologetics. I stand firmly in the reformed camp and I audited iTunesU courses in apologetics from Reformed Theological Seminary and Westminster Theological Seminary and was still confused on how presuppositional apologetics works in actual practice. I must sat that after reading this book I still don't see how this approach is useful in defending the faith. I have respect for John Frame but this apologetical approach seems more like a non-approach. I'll be moving on to more fruitful endeavors such as actually learning specific defenses for the Christian faith.

Academically Helpful: Not a How To Book
Format: Kindle
I have to say that I respect all of the apologists who contributed to this book. As a student of apologetics it is interesting to see the perceptions of the different methodologies, but there is no real guidance on "how to defend the faith"...so, there's that. Truth be told, all of their methods have a place and time...it is up to the reader to discern when and where.

Difficult read, but helpful slightly
Format: Kindle
This book was exhausting, I guess it's because I had to read it quickly for seminary. Either way I don't think the authors intended for the audience to really follow much of what they were saying, it was more like they were in a conversation of their own inner circle, kudos for trying but please make this readable next time... Quite frankly one of the authors I won't say who completely misunderstood presup's understanding of whether or not people can know things. I say that as an avid opponent of the typical presup circular argument. On a positive note, I did learn that all of them share a lot in common and some of them are not different from each other at all. Presup holds in my eyes a highly admired love for the scripture which they often attempt to paint as a separate apologetic from say classical view for example, however it isn't, and always seems to be saying it's the the only show in town. Frame did do a lot of good to show that his view is not the classical presup arrogant argument, by extending commonalities with the other views, however he highlighted the truth, from my understanding, that presup is not an apologetic it at all. It is an attitude of the heart of the apologist. Presup is inconsistent when it tries to say you cannot use evidences and you don't need to when the core of their apologetic argument is an epistemological evidence. The transcendental argument at least in the way presup apologists us it is not actually in the scripture, making it an evidence of philosophy outside the bible. This of course undermines everything they are complaining about in the other camps.
