A wonderfully characterful Victorian bar brooch, offered in a darling antique box. A rare and charming survival that adds to its story and appeal.

Crafted in warm 8–9 carat gold, the brooch is designed in a clean, simple bar form that allows the delightful motif to take full focus. Perched atop the bar is a finely detailed running hare, captured mid stride with lively movement and expressive form. Beneath the hare rests an enamelled rifle cartridge case, an unusual and evocative element that hints at country pursuits and the sporting life so closely associated with the Victorian era.

The contrast between the polished gold, the textured figure of the hare, and the coloured enamel creates a piece that is both subtle and full of personality.

Elegant yet playful, and wonderfully evocative of its time, this brooch is a special survivor. Presented in its antique box, it would make a distinctive addition to any collection or a unique piece to wear and treasure today.

Great stimulation for a 'busy' pup
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
I’ll admit I was a little skeptical since my German Shepherd is well over the recommended weight limit for this ball, but it’s been a huge hit. Even though it’s technically for smaller breeds, it has held up remarkably well so far. I’ve mostly kept it on the gentle mode, and that’s more than enough to grab her attention and keep her occupied for quite a while. The design is actually much tougher than the warnings suggest; the two halves screw together so securely that she hasn't been able to pry it open, which is impressive for a tough chewer. It’s been a great way to keep her mentally engaged indoors without worrying about the toy falling apart immediately.

Recommended for Small, Mellower Dogs, not the destructive, chewy kind
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
My dog loved this ball, maybe a little too much. He attacked it like it was a wild animal and left teeth marks and tears in the outer plastic. I decided to give it to my cats instead, who initially were very intrigued by it. The buff kitty even chirped to see it. He would roll around with it as it vibrated and hopped, but after a while he wasn’t that interested. I think I can get them to play with it if I don’t use it with them every day, maybe wait a few weeks between playtimes. Perhaps it is a little too large for cats. My dog, who is less than 30 lbs., might be too big for it, or maybe just his mouth is, or maybe because he’s a Boston Terrier and he always feels like it’s his duty to destroy all toys (all my Bostons were like that). But I don’t think I will let him have it again. Maybe a toy breed or puppy might be more of the appropriate size for this ball. Or someone who isn’t as destructive. The instructions are almost unreadable because the text is so small. I couldn’t understand what I was supposed to do with the “installation process.” I did figure out how to turn it on and off by myself, however. There are four modes when it is on: gentle, normal, active, and lighting only (no vibration). As a human, it is a fun thing to watch, even if it is just for the light show.

Battery so so
Each charge doesn’t last very long, but my dog likes it when it does.

SMELLS MUSTY
Opened it up for our pup on his bday and it smelled like pure mold. We had to throw it out because it was just terrible smelling and we didn't want our pup to even put it in his mouth!
