Slam mute pads are designed to sit on top of your drumheads to eliminate 95% of the drum produced sounds. Made of rubber, each pad is manufactured to the correct size to fit over the top drumhead between the drum hoop, which will hold it in place.

The Slam SP-FMP2 Fusion Mute Pad Set consists of a 10", 12" and 14" tom pad, a 14" snare pad, two cymbal pads and a bass drum pad. The bass drum pad is 250mm wide and has been specifically designed to sit flat on the bass drum head, eliminating any bouncing effect whilst being struck.  

One of the key features of the bass drum pad is that it will fit any flanged hoop, which is commonly found on entry level kits. By removing a sleeve, it will also fit wooden laquered hoops found mainly on mid to high end drumkits. The bass drum pad will also adjust to any size bass drum from 16" to 26".

Do I love it? Yes. Is it well made? It certainly appears to be. Is the leather thick? Yes, I’d say definitely thick and sturdy. Do I like the color (Bootlegger Brown)? Of course I do, it’s gorgeous. It seems very well made. The corners are secured with black fasteners, which I think are going to better than the buttons in the long run that I’ve seen on others. It’s was this brand, or Hide and Drink for me. I went with these guys because it’s U.S. made, and hopefully American sourced leather. I bought the Large. My concern was that the XL might be too large for my nightstand. I measured it out and everything. However, I was not counting on the length and width to be measured from the end of the pinched corners, so I was a little disappointed about the size of the useable surface area. It’s not a big deal, but I wish that I’d have just spent the extra $5 and got the XL. If I we’re to get another, I definitely go with the XL unless you just want something on the smallish side, but still I suspect that they are larger that what most others are offering. At least these guys give you a choice of options.
