NLGI 1.5 ISO VG 460 Base Oil PAO Synthetic Lithium Complex Heavy Load · Water Resistant

Product Overview

Mobilith SHC 460 is a superior performance synthetic grease combining a high-viscosity PAO synthetic base oil (ISO VG 460) with a premium lithium complex thickener. It is specifically engineered for tough industrial and marine applications where bearings operate under heavy loads at low-to-moderate speeds, and where water contamination resistance is a critical performance requirement.

The ISO VG 460 base oil viscosity provides the thick lubricating film required to protect rolling element bearings operating at slow shaft speeds under high radial and axial loads — conditions under which lower viscosity greases cannot maintain adequate elastohydrodynamic lubrication. The lithium complex thickener delivers a dropping point of 265°C, outstanding structural stability in the presence of water, and excellent adhesion to bearing surfaces to resist wash-out and displacement.

Mobilith SHC 460 has demonstrated outstanding performance in steel mills, paper mills and marine applications — three of the most demanding bearing lubrication environments in industry. Its NLGI 1.5 consistency balances the pumpability required for relubrication access with the body required to stay in position in heavily loaded bearing housings. Operating temperature range: -30°C to 150°C.

Key Performance Benefits

Heavy Load Bearing Protection

ISO VG 460 base oil delivers the thick film required for heavily loaded, slow-speed rolling element bearings — maintaining adequate EHD film thickness where lower viscosity greases enter the boundary lubrication regime. Four-ball weld point of 250 kgf and wear scar of 0.5 mm confirm strong EP and anti-wear performance.

Outstanding Water Resistance

SKF Emcor ratings of 0,1 in both synthetic seawater and acidic water — among the best water resistance results achievable in industrial greases. Critical for marine bearings, steel mill roll neck bearings, paper mill press section bearings and any application subject to water wash or spray.

High Temperature Capability

Dropping point of 265°C and operating range to 150°C — the PAO synthetic base oil and lithium complex thickener combination maintains grease structure and lubricating film at elevated temperatures encountered in steel mill and processing plant bearing applications.

Extended Relubrication Intervals

PAO synthetic base oil provides exceptional thermal and oxidation stability — enabling longer intervals between relubrication compared to mineral-based greases at the same NLGI grade. Directly reduces maintenance frequency and associated costs on difficult-to-access bearings.

Rust & Corrosion Protection

Passes ASTM D1743 corrosion preventive test. Excellent rust protection in the presence of water, acidic water and synthetic seawater — protecting bearing surfaces from corrosion in marine, coastal and wet process environments where conventional mineral greases may fail prematurely.

Low Traction & Energy Efficiency

Low traction coefficient of the PAO base oil reduces friction in the load zone of spherical roller and ball bearings — with potential for energy savings and reduced operating temperatures in bearing applications. Viscosity index of 188 delivers stable base oil viscosity across temperature extremes.

Typical Applications

Mobilith SHC 460 is recommended for heavily loaded, slow-to-moderate speed rolling element bearings in tough industrial and marine environments where water contamination resistance is critical:

Steel Mills

Roll neck bearings under heavy load and water spray · Roller table bearings · Continuous caster bearings · Mill stand bearings · Applications combining high contact stress, elevated temperature and continuous water exposure — the environment Mobilith SHC 460 was specifically proven in

Marine & Offshore

Deck machinery bearings in seawater environments · Hatch cover and crane bearings · Windlass and winch bearings · Stern tube and rudder bearings · Offshore structure pivot bearings where continuous salt water exposure demands outstanding rust and water resistance

Paper Mills & Processing Plants

Press section bearings subject to water and steam · Dryer section bearings at elevated temperature · Heavily loaded conveyor bearings in wet processing environments · Thickener and clarifier bearings · Dewatering equipment bearings

Mining & Heavy Industry

Heavily loaded slow-speed crusher bearings · Bucket elevator and conveyor take-up bearings under high load · Trunnion bearings on rotating drums in wet environments · Mine dewatering equipment bearings · Large sheave and pulley bearings subject to water ingress

NLGI 1.5 — what does this mean? NLGI 1.5 sits between NLGI 1 (semi-fluid) and NLGI 2 (standard grease consistency). It provides better pumpability than NLGI 2 through grease lines and nipples, while maintaining more body and staying power than NLGI 1 in bearing housings. Mobilith SHC 460 at NLGI 1.5 is the correct choice where the OEM specifies this consistency — always check your bearing housing specification before ordering.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

AMAZING debut novel!!!
Format: Kindle
Plot ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice 🌶️🌶️.5 Romance 💘💘💘 Vibes ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dual 1st person POV - Ara (26) & Rogue (39 - but looks mid-20s: they can live hundreds of years so this isn't that large of a gap as it could've been which I heavily appreciate lol) Tropes: enemies to lovers, fae/human wars (deep hatred for each other), shifters (dragons- MMC can only partial shift with wings), one horse, one bed, touch her and d!e, found family, abduction turned to freedom The Last Storm is the debut novel from JD Linton and let me tell you, you guys NEED to read this. The plot was engaging and the editing was was amazing (especially for a debut novel). Our FMC, Ara, is stuck in her gilded cage longing for a life outside of her small town. She uses her books to escape and live vicariously through the pages (honestly, relatable). After her father announces her betrothal to her childhood friend (to whom she has no romantic feelings for), Ara tumbles unknowingly into a desperate plot trying to stop the humans from slaughtering the Fae. As one can expect from an enemies to lovers / kidnapper/captive romance, Ara fights her attraction and lust towards our MMC, Rogue (the King of the Fae), for as long as she can. Upon seeing Ara for the first time, Rogue is instantly aware that she is his fated mate (not a spoiler). Since she is the General's only daughter, he plans to abduct her and use her as leverage to stop the brutality. During Ara's time in Rogue's captivity, their banter and chemistry continue to rise until they finally boil over and come together (quite literally, and many times I may add 😉). Here's what I LOVED: - Rogue continuously seeks advice from his elders and deeply respects their opinions and life experience and tries to implement their recommendations - Rogue makes many mistakes in the beginning but we see him actively work on not repeating them as the book progresses. The level of self-awareness and his ability to change his behavior was impressive - The magic system is intricate and we have only scraped the surface. As the series continues and Ara progresses in her powers, I'm sure we'll get to see more of this. I absolutely LOVE the messaging system that is used in this book. - Ara's struggles are so human and so raw. She is experiencing so much guilt and pain and hurt and getting to see her work through each of these emotions is inspiring. Especially as her and Rogue get closer and she learns she can lean on him as well, that she is not alone. - While this is the start of a series, there is NO cliffhanger! There's a bit of a teaser of something major that is going to happen at the start of the next book, but it's not a cliffhanger in the sense that we aren't sure if someone is going to live or d!e or if they'll be separated. For that, I am very thankful! This book was so much fun that I will definitely be returning to book 2, even if it takes several months (or longer since this is an debut author) to publish! - Lastly, the cover is GORGEOUS! And I love the title! I'll copy a few of my favorite quotes below so you can have a little taste of the author's writing and the world she's cultivated. 😊 Top Highlights from The Last Storm On days like this, when my heart was heavy and my mind clouded, I resorted to books— to escape, to forget, to find freedom where I had none. If I were to marry him, my face would always be turned to the window, searching for more, and if not that, I would be a shell of the person I am now. I stepped back to admire her, thr0bbing at the sight. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. To ever exist. Nothing, no one, had ever deserved to be worshiped more. All men should be made to kneel before her. But she would have to settle for me. The taste of her met my t0ngue as my scent merged with hers, forever branding her. Mine. I l!cked the wound. Hers. Completely and utterly hers. I didn’t claim her in ownership. I claimed her as my one. Devoted myself to one. With that mark, my body and soul were bound to her. I would never be with anyone else, emotionally or physically. It would be her or no one, until my last breath. “Scream my name. Let everyone know who I belong to.” I had never really cared about the weather before, but now, clear skies meant everything to me, and I was grateful to see another calm morning. “There will never be another woman for me.” He paused. “Ever.” I stilled at his words. “What… Why?” “This”— his thumb slid down across the mark—“ is a symbol of… surrender. I know you believe that it was my claim upon you, but it wasn’t. It never was. I bound my body and soul to you, little storm.” “I also know that it is more than this tiny, insignificant mark on your skin that binds me to you. It’s you. All of you. Your strength and resilience. Your determination to endure no matter what fate throws at you. Your love for love and stories and hope. You are entirely the opposite of everything that I am and I would gladly wear your shackles if it meant I could have you.” My mate. Mine. And then everything shifted and I understood. I understood everything. The surrender. The deep, soul-craving longing. Bound. I was bound to him. Body and soul. Entirely his. “I would’ve waited forever,” he whispered back, understanding. Seriously, everyone.. add this to your TBR!!
