An exceptional Etruscan revival necklace from the late Victorian era (circa 1870-1890).
The piece features hand carved brownish orange agate intaglios in 18k gold. The center cameo is flanked by two hand etched rams heads -- which are beautifully detailed on both the front ant the back of the piece.
The necklace measures 17 inches with a 1.4 inch drop. It is in great condition; however, there is a chip to the periphery of the cameo on the left side of the piece (visible only under careful magnification).
The necklace is marked 750 on the spring ring (which we suspect is a later replacement). It has been acid tested and been x-rayed as 18k gold.
The necklace weighs 27.68 grams.
