Among the first artists in his generation to employ digital software in the creation of art objects, Craig Kalpakjian engages with both historical art discourses and contemporary issues. In his work, Kalpakjian focuses on the seduction of technology and digital space from a critical position, questioning utopian ideals and suggesting darker implications.

Intelligence considers the ideas of artificial intelligence exhibited by machines, as seen in the Sony AIBO robotic dog, and human intelligence, like that which is gathered through interpersonal contact by the US military in accordance with the “US Army Field Guides Manual on Interrogation,” a guide that prohibits abusive techniques of torture. This publication is based on Kalpakjian's Black Box (2002), an artwork shown as part of his solo show at the Andrea Rosen Gallery that comprises an isolated AIBO robotic dog inside a constructed minimalist box. Over the course of the exhibition, the robot dog took photographic images of its environment, which were hung on the wall beside the box. Intelligence includes images produced during the exhibition, as well as a section that juxtaposes excerpts from the AIBO user's guide with those from the US military's interrogation manual. Also included is “The Tail Wags the Dog,” an interview with Bob Nickas discussing the background and implications of both Black Box and Intelligence, an essay on Black Box titled “Shit Photographs” by curator Paul Wombell, and Gilles Deleuze's “Postscript on the Societies of Control,” which examines issues revolving around the technology of social control and confinement.

Kalpakjian's Black Box was first exhibited in New York at the Andrea Rosen Gallery, in 2002, and as part of the 2013 Le Mois de la Photo à Montréal, curated by Wombell.

Helped Tighten My Skin & Minimize Pores
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule, Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
I’ve loved the Dr. Melaxin Cyano Pink Spicule Serum! The bottle is small, but it lasted me around 6 months since I only use one pump every other night. When I first started using it, I noticed a tingling sensation, but over time my skin adjusted and I barely notice it now. I’ve definitely seen my pores appear smaller and my skin feels tighter and smoother after using it.

Great for pore reduction
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
This product works great!! it almost feels like an exfoliator. It reduced the pours on my nose, which were very big and now you can barely see them. I would recommend this product if you have large pores also make skin look firmer and smoother more for a night cream though.

More than expected
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
Love, love and recommended to friends. Leaves my skin feeling and looking great. At 69 I don't expect miracles but can definitely see an improvement in texture, glow and line minimizing. I'm hooked and will never be without!

Micro-needling effect!
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
Love how you can feel the micro-needling effect. I use this is my first application after toning and follow up with my serum and moisturizing routine. I do believe it gives my face a plump feeling, especially after gua sha. Will continue to use in my daily!

Helps my moisturizer absorb better
Color: Cyano Pink Spicule
I’m not quite sure if the product is fully working the way it is supposed to but I do like that when I use this and the apply moisturizer, it absorbs into my skin better and leaves my skin smoother and a lot less greasy. It’s easy to throw in my travel bag because of the size and you really only just need a little for each use so it goes a long way got the cost.
