The well-known Hungarian photographer was the mastermind of the famous Duflex camera already in 1943. Due to WWII the camera was first marketed in 1948, the manufacture was stopped already in 1949 by ministry degree. Unsold cameras had to be destroyed. The very rare and historically important camera was the first 35mm SLR to have a metal focal plane shutter, instant return mirror and internally actuated automatic diaphragm. It was a very advanced camera for its time. The reflex focusing finder uses porroprism, a separate finder includes framing lines for 35, 50 and 90mm lenses. Only 50mm lenses were produced in series, called Artar or later Gammar. --- In very fine and fully working condition (finder and shutter are much better than average), Gammar 3.5/5cm no.1490590.
