In these letters to his friends and relations, Pliny the Younger, lawyer, author, and natural philosopher, provides a fascinating insight into Roman life in the period 97 to 112 AD. Part autobiography, part social history, they document the career and interests of a senator and leading imperial official whose friends include the historians Tacitus and Suetonius. Pliny's letters cover a wide range of topics, from the contemporary political scene to domestic affairs, the educational system, the rituals and conduct of Roman religion, the treatment of slaves, and the phenomena of nature. He describes in vivid detail the eruption of Vesuvius, which killed his uncle, and the daily routines of a well-to-do Roman in the courts and at leisure, in the city, or enjoying rural pursuits at his country estates. This is a lively new translation by eminent scholar Peter Walsh, based on the Oxford Classical Text and drawing on the latest scholarship. In his introduction, Walsh considers the political background of the letters, the span of Pliny's career, the range of topics covered in the letters, and Pliny's literary style. Invaluable notes identify the letters' recipients and explain allusions to historical events and terms. A general index is supplemented by two specific indexes on aspects of social life and Pliny's correspondents. This classic will make great reading for those with an interest in classical literature and ancient history. About the Series: For over 100 years Oxford World's Classics has made available the broadest spectrum of literature from around the globe. Great everyday sneaker
Size: 1 Little Kid, Color: Fuchsia
I bought these for my kid and honestly didn’t expect to like them as much as I do, but they’ve been great so far. They’re lightweight, easy to get on, look cute, fit well, and actually seem comfortable enough that there’s been zero complaining (which is saying a lot).
The grip on the bottom is solid, and they’ve held up really well with everyday wear, running around, playground, all of it. I also like that they’re breathable, so no sweaty feet at the end of the day.
They’re not the most “fancy” sneaker out there, but for the price, the quality feels really fair. If anything, I wish they came in even more color options because we’d probably buy another pair.
Overall, really good everyday shoe. If you just need something reliable, comfortable, and kid-proof, these definitely do the job.

You've Found Your Daughter's Match! Superior Sneakers for Girls!
Size: 1 Little Kid, Color: Fuchsia, Size: 1 Little Kid, Color: Fuchsia
Super-cute, stylish sneakers meet cushiony comfort at a very reasonable price. These sneakers have it all!
The bed and sole of these sneakers provide significant shock-absorption making them ideal for serious athletics or a long day out at the theme park. Our daughter went from a Keds-type sneaker to these and she was beaming 😁!
In addition to their comfort and ppearance is the fact that they fasten and unfasten with ease. Any child can put them on and take them off. The laces stretch and the Velcro is highly adjustable. Everything has been constructed with integrity.
They are, also, washable so you can continue to maintain their crisp, vibrant colors and keep them looking new.
They fit true-to-size and can accodimate somewhat wide feet as well.
There are only positive things to say about these 5+ stars!

Nice, Tough & Comfortable!
Size: 6.5 Wide Big Kid, Color: Black
Bought as an everyday school shoe for my 10 year old son. He likes them a lot and is holding up great through rough boy play, and they still look good after a couple months now.

Pink and purple perfection
Size: 13 Little Kid, Color: Pink/Purple, Size: 13 Little Kid, Color: Pink/Purple
Fits great and perfect colors for my (not so) little. This is her first pair of "tie" shoes so we're still learning, but the laces are a good length for teaching and practicing. She says they're very comfortable too.
