The Ryan Dickson Line is the collaboration of two Australasian songwriters, musicians and musicmakers Liam Ryan & Andrew Dickson. Ryan & Dickson are long time friends and bandmates from multi award winning New Zealand based rock band The Narcs best known for their 1984 NZ chart topper (You Took Me) Heart & Soul which was written by Dickson & Ryan. The Ryan Dickson Line EP is the result of a side project and one of many for Liam & Andrew. Recorded, mixed and mastered over several months in Waihi New Zealand and Brisbane Australia during 2016 the 4 track debut EP came to fruition (with an unofficial release date) available online and in a limited run of beautifully packaged CD's in Dec 2016.

The songs explore the idea of accumulated experience. Memory, rage, forgiveness, heartbreak and hearts repaired, a pill for everything, the longing for transcendence and environmental concern.
Two of the songs are brand new and two are a hybrid blend of new and old demo ideas melded together with a fresh look at arrangements, chords, lyrics, instrumentation and vocal production. We wanted to hear how these songs would develop in a different way. Utilising more acoustic instruments and blend that with a lounge-house vibe and with a rootsy and fat sounding approach to the production. Its kind of a shuffled playlist of styles within the blues, roots, reggae and country pop rock genres' ...perfect listening on a summers drive!
