Made with all-natural materials, use small scraps of favourite fabric to create a doll especially for your little one. A touch of hand embroidery makes a sweet addition too!
You will receive a clear, detailed tutorial including step-by-step photos and a BONUS video demonstrating how to make the doll's head. No previous doll making or embroidery experience required!

Supplies
This fabric comes in a variety of skin colours and is available from specialist Waldorf doll making supply stores.
10" (25cm) of light to medium weight natural fabric such as linen or cotton. Knits, like t-shirt fabric or upcycled knitted jumpers can also be used, and will result in a rounder body due to the stretch of the fabric.
Tubular gauze, which can be found at most pharmacies in various widths. For these mini dolls, the width used for fingers and toes works well. If you cannot find tubular gauze, use regular flat gauze and seam it into a tube.
Use clean carded wool roving or batting for stuffing, approximately 1/2oz (12g) for a Pebble. Different body fabrics and stuffing levels may impact this amount.
- Embroidery floss colours for the eyes and mouth
- Textured yarn or wool fleece for hair
- Point turner or similar dull-pointed tool for stuffing
- Small sharp scissors
- Strong linen thread
- Regular sewing thread
- Optional: small amount of yarn if making knitted Pixie Hat
Make old things new again! Twig & Tale patterns pair wonderfully with upcycled fabrics. Pebble Pocket Dolls use very little fabric, so look to vintage linen and cotton garments, knit jumpers, and precious fabric scraps for inspiration.

These dolls are special and are not meant to be played with by unsupervised babies or small children who might swallow the small pieces of their wardrobes, or chew off a body part.

Adult supervision is always recommended and you should routinely check the items you have made for loose threads or signs of damage that could cause harm.
