Brains and Beauty

ACUiTY's POCO-Ti is more than a beautifully finished titanium knob...it can actually reduce your shift throw. While most knobs sit around 25mm (1 inch) or higher above the top of the actual shift lever, the POCO-Ti sits only 3-4mm above the top of the shift lever, leading to 5-10% shorter throws when compared to non-countersunk knobs. The POCO-Ti is one of the most well-integrated countersunk knobs available, with its built-in shift boot collar that easily clips into the knob for that perfect finished appearance.

Materials and Finish

The POCO-Ti builds on its popular aluminum predecessor by combining a splatter finish titanium outer shell with a stainless steel core to deliver a beautiful, weighted knob that will feel less hot or cold in extreme temperatures while delivering a more tactile shift feel. While an insulated knob is the most forgiving in harsh climates, titanium is more forgiving than aluminum and is heavier than an equivalent aluminum or insulated knob.

This version of the POCO-Ti features a hand-brushed, burnt blue finish with handcrafted purple and gold splatter accents. The shift boot collar is also titanium and features a burnt finish in blue. An elastomer ring in the knob provides the collar retention feature, similar to our very popular 1924 shift boot collars. All lettering is laser-etched for durability in a burnt gold color.

Integrated Boot Collar

The POCO-Ti's titanium boot collar is affixed to the shift boot using a low-profile cable tie (3 are supplied with each kit); the knob threads down on the shift lever until it stops. Once both parts are installed, the shift boot collar clips into the shift knob and installation is complete.

Care Instructions

Oil and dirt that accumulate on the outside of this product will temporarily reduce the vibrance of the colors in its burnt finish. If you find your titanium looking a little lackluster, use a microfiber cloth and some household rubbing alcohol to wipe the outer surfaces down. This will remove oil and dirt deposited on the outer surfaces and will restore the original beauty of the finish. Avoid use when your hands are excessively rough or when you have abrasive materials on them (like sand, dirt, etc), as this can prematurely wear down the splatter finish. Avoid use with rings or similar jewelry as it may scratch the finish. If the finish is ever damaged, ACUiTY may be able to refinish the knob at a lower cost than replacing it; contact us for details.

What to expect:

Once installed, you can expect an appreciable reduction in knob height (typically 25-50mm or 1-2in) and a shorter shifter throw and gate spacing (typically 5-10%) when compared to most knobs. If you have a very tall knob, the change will be even more notable. In addition to improved shifting performance, you'll appreciate the integrated boot collar that helps to seamlessly mate your existing shift boot to the POCO-Ti knob.

Features

  • The titanium outer shell features a stunning brushed, burnt blue finish with purple and gold splatter accents, while the collar is supplied in a brushed, burnt blue finish
  • Titanium is 65% denser, has 95% lower thermal conductivity, and has 40% lower heat capacity when compared to aluminum, making Titanium knobs more forgiving in climates with harsh temperatures and providing a more weighted feel when compared to aluminum knobs
  • When installed, the POCO knob is positioned about 3mm (0.12 in) taller than the threads on the shifter and typically reduces shift throw by 5%-10% compared to most other knobs
  • Detachable titanium boot collar for seamless integration with your shift boot of choice

Uses same battery as the rest of my equipment
Size: 8" Edger New
Since I already have and like the Greenworks mower, string trimmer and blower it only made sense to get the edger. Even better that I didn’t need to buy more batteries. I tried another name brand electric edger and returned it for not holding a charge. This one works great! There’s charge left in the battery after everything has been edged. I was concerned how easy it would be to control but fell in love with it first time I used it. To use just pop the battery in, flip the thumb lever, squeeze and edge. Not as noisy as gas powered equipment and no cords to pull. Feels sturdy in my hands and a good weight that’s enough to not pop up if it hits something but not too much to be heavy to carry back to the shed.

First use was great!
I've used it just the one time today. I had previously "edged" with a string weedwhacker, so while the grass was cut back some, there wasn't a trench dug out. I did a gentle push and pull, taking on about 18" at a time to get a new trench dug next to the sidewalk edge. It did a great job! The entire unit was much heavier and sturdy looking than I was afraid it would be for the price, so pleasantly surprised. Assembly wasn't complicated, but it did take two of us to hold it steady because getting the screws to seat in the square hole and not have the cord in the way was a bit tricky. I'm a 70+ lady, not large and not athletic, but I was able to handle this edger with ease. Now, to see how long it lasts!

Great Yard Helper!
So easy to use and affordable! This edger is a great time saver, easy to operate, and relatively easy to adjust although you may need a pliers or screwdriver to help with the adjustment levels, but its not difficult. I would have given this 5 stars but just one thing that is a sticking point for me is I wish this had its own stand or hanger because of its odd shape, it doesn't necessarily balance upright too well. It’s long and the guide wheel in the front sticks out. So, it is always awkward to get it tidy in the garage when not in use. Now maybe this is what it's like for landscapers…I’m not a professional. Just a homeowner doing my own upkeep. With what this costs, I’ll figure it out, and is worth the money.
