In this Very Short Introduction Jim Bennett looks at the history of navigation, starting with the distinctive cultures of navigation that are defined geographically - the Mediterranean Sea, and the Pacific, Indian, and Atlantic Oceans. He shows how the adoption of mathematical methods, the use of instruments, the writing of textbooks and the publication of charts all combined to create a more standardized practice. Methods such as longitude-finding by chronometer and lunar distance were complemented by the routine business of recording courses and reckoning position 'by account'. Important to Know

I very much like this study guide. It has helped me study for my exams. Some of my test questions have even come straight from this book. HOWEVER, I do caution anyone who buys this book to double check the answers. I have come across MULTIPLE typos and incorrect answers in the Answer Key. I like the content of this book, but for a professionally printed book, the overall completeness is poor.

Great purchase

This was a great addition to the textbook. The textbook was awful in my opinion but this study guide really explained it in a easy to understand and direct way. I love the matching, fill in the blank and most importantly the case studies. Really helps you figure out what you may encounter pathophysiology wise when caring for patients.
