This button is from the late 20th century when women's fashion included buttons on their garments. The colours found in the button inspire my wool fleece choices. This button is from the late 20th century when women's fashion included buttons on their garments. The colours found in the button inspire my wool fleece choices. Here this star carved shell with a steel center facet, is held in place by an inner brass fancy rim which is housed in a steel cut rim. Circa 1890s.
To create this brooch I work with coloured carded wool fleece, needle felting the wool into a unique design. It is then hand sewed and beaded with a lock brooch pin on the back.
The dimensions are: width = 2 " and the length 2 1/8".
