A big part of my Iceland trip was planned around maximizing my chances to see the Northern Lights. Iceland did not disappoint, but the night this photo was taken was by far the most spectacular. All other nights I either did not like the composition, or the lights were not sharp enough, but everything seemed to align perfectly for this night. I had to grab my gear and hike to a few different spots before finding this composition. I wanted to make sure to combine Iceland’s beautiful landscape with the complete awesomeness that only the Aurora Borealis can provide. Truly a celestial experience. Despite the cold, I ended up lying in the field for most of the night taking in this incredible show.
