The "Captain Macedoine" is a highly elusive, literary cocktail created by British author William McFee (1881–1966) in a 1921 letter to his friend, Christopher Morley. It was later privately published as a limited, 8-page Christmas pamphlet in 1930. Because the recipe is essentially a piece of 1920s literary ephemera rather than an established bartending staple, an exact, standardized ingredient list isn't widely circulated.
