Formation & Characteristics
Quartz (SiO2) crystals form in silica-rich hydrothermal environments, growing in fissures and veins under elevated temperatures. This piece comprises a natural cluster of terminated quartz points with an irregular, outward-facing mound, not carved or heat treated. The orange hue results from surface coatings and potential inclusions of iron, hematite, and manganese on or within the crystals. The cluster remains in a raw, natural state and is mounted on a bespoke display stand. Origin: Madagascar.
