Bio-Allay® contains a proprietary combination of three unique herbal extracts; White Willow (Salix alba), Devil’s Claw (Harpagophytumprocumbens), and Boswellia (Boswellia serrata gum) which collectively support comfort levels and promote enhanced activities of daily living. White Willow bark was the original source for the salicylates needed for the chemical manufacture of acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), but clinicians should not be remiss in believing that White Willow is synonymous with acetylsalicylic acid. White Willow salicyclates have demonstrated inhibition of COX-2 transcription, a feature not noted in acetylsalicyclic acid. Additionally, anticoagulant and antiprostaglandin actions associated with acetylsalicyclic acid are not present with White Willow extract. Devil’s Claw has a long history of use for the support of musculoskeletal comfort.
