Als Pionierin einer textilen Konzeptkunst hat Hicks in sechs Jahrzehnten eine unverwechselbare Bildsprache entwickelt – von fein gewebten Miniaturen bis zu monumentalen Installationen, die neue Perspektiven auf die Möglichkeiten der Kunst eröffnen. Dieses Buch enthält Ansichten von Sheila Hicks‘ Ausstellung a little bit of a lot of things im Kunstmuseum St. Gallen sowie ein Gespräch mit dem Kurator Rob Storr und einen Essay von Gianni Jetzer. Es dokumentiert zudem eine Masterclass, die die Künstlerin in St. Gallen hielt, und enthält bisher unveröffentlichtes Bildmaterial.

Sheila Hicks (*1934 in Hastings, Nebraska) studierte Kunst an der Yale University unter Josef Albers. Auf Reisen durch Südamerika entdeckte sie ihre Leidenschaft für Textilien. In den 1960er Jahren etablierte sie sich in Paris und schuf großformatige Installationen, die Farbe, Form und Material vereinen. Hicks gilt als Pionierin der Konzeptkunst mit Textilien und stellt weltweit in renommierten Museen aus. Sie lebt in Paris.

I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
