Das Sextett aus dem irischen Cork überzeugte mit ihrem 2013er Debütalbum „Leave Your Love At The Door“ in Irland viele Kritiker. Mit den Nachfolger „Borders“ veröffentlicht die Band nun erstmals auch ein Album in Deutschland. Der neuen Platte sind hunderte Liveauftritte und eine exzellente Chemie unter den Bandmitgliedern anzumerken deutlich anzumerken: Eine infizierende Mischung von Americana, Country und Folk mischt sich mit tollem Bandsound und überlegtem Songwriting. Eine abwechselungsreiche Folge von Balladen und tanzbaren Nummern machen das Album zu einem Hörerlebnis.
Melancholisch, mitreißend, schön!
Für das „schwere zweite Album“ wählte die Band aus Cork die lokalen Monique Studios von Christian Best (Mick Flannery) als Aufnahmeort und spielten das Album in Tourpausen zwischen Winter 2014 und Frühjahr 2015 auf.
John O’Connor über das neue Album:
"Having spent a few years playing together we wanted to progress and evolve our sound with this album. The writing was very intuitive, these songs came together quite quickly, with the band featuring more prominently than previous recordings. Lyrically I wanted to explore the contrasts of light and dark, examine the notions of right and wrong, to disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed."
