Diese erste Monografie zum Werk Nedko Solakovs stellt die während der letzten zehn Jahre entstandenen Arbeiten des Bulgaren vor. Solakov bezieht aus klassischen Werken der Kunstgeschichte die Ingredienzen für seine fiktiven, häufig absurden Erzählungen. So jongliert er in einer zwölfteiligen Reihe von »repräsentativen« Gemälden, wie er sie nennt, mit den Klischees der Romantischen Landschaft im Sinne Caspar David Friedrichs. Die in altmeisterlicher Manier gemalten Bilder zitieren zwar Bildrhetorik und Konstruktionsschemata der deutschen Romantik, lassen jedoch deren theoretischen Überbau verschwinden: »Solakov will die heimelige Hausversion des Romantischen«, hat Peter Herbstreuth konstatiert. Alle Bilder weisen »a missing part« auf, eine Leerstelle, die irritieren soll. Mal fehlt auf den Bildern der Mond, mal ein Boot, mal eine Lichtspiegelung; allesamt bedeutungstragende Chiffren im friedrichschen Kosmos. Schließlich liest der Betrachter Hilfe suchend die Beschriftung der Bilder, auf der Solakov akribisch konstatiert, was den Kompositionen jeweils »fehlt«. Er dekonstruiert damit überlieferte kunsthistorische Vorstellungen und Erwartungshaltungen des Rezipienten: »do-not-trust-me-or-yourself-too-much«, wie der Künstler selbst formuliert. Zum Künstler: Nedko Solakov *1957 in Cherven Briag, Bulgarien. Studierte Kunst an der Kunstakadmie Sofia; Abschluss als Wandmaler. 1985/86 Studium am Nationaal Hoger Institut voor Shoone Kunsten, Antwerpen. Teilnahme an zahlreichen Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen. Stipendien in Zürich, Wien und im Künstlerhaus Bethanien. 2001 Teilnahme an der Biennale Venedig. Lebt und arbeitet in Sofia. Refunded my purchase price
I purchased the "TESmart" 2 computer KVM Switch. I always get the added warranty these day for electronics and I am glad I did. It has now been 3 years and the unit has stopped working correctly. It would switch between computers but the mouse and keyboard stopped working for one of the computers. I'm not sure exactly which component stopped working because the keyboard and mouse worked fine for the other computer. I did plugged the mouse and keyboard directly to the computer in question and they worked fine. I believe the "push threw" stopped for my W11 computer, meanwhile, the W7 computer keeps trucking on.
I say all that to say this, it's worth paying a few dollars more to get that little bit of extra security on the electronics these days. Unfortunately the prices have gone up on the KVM switches, at least the ones worth buying so I am in search of a new one now.
ASURION was easy to work with. It wasn't that much of a hassle. The slight glitch I experienced was their automatic system didn't register my claim correctly. Only mistake I made was making the claim over a weekend. I would say if you make a claim do it during the normal business hours. I was able to chat with an agent during working hours and they were able to remedy the issue quickly. I did have to ship the KVM switch and its components to Asurion but they paid for shipping and once I was able to package and ship the unit back, Asurion refunded my purchase price completely with an Amazon Gift Card.
So, all in all, it's all good!

Knowledgeable and helpful
I purchased a new Sony TV and was having a lot of trouble coordinating the settings. After struggling for 1.5 days, I gave up and called the number for Asurion. There was a reasonable wait while I found the "right" tech person, but it was worthwhile. He was knowledgeable and patient. He gave me confidence and we worked together to solve all my issues. At the end he became pressuring, wanted me to buy a monthly gig with them.
